Role description
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Create user interface specifications based on business requirements, user needs, and technical constraints.
Develop concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma.
Ensure designs align with Caterpillar’s Design Guidelines (DEG) and CX roadmap.
Conduct discovery research (voice of customer, analytics, usability testing).
Develop personas, journey maps, and storyboards to guide design decisions.
Work with business stakeholders, developers, and vendors to implement designs.
Participate in design reviews, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions.
Support design audits to ensure compliance with UX best practices.
Promote user-centered design principles across teams.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging UX methodologies.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
8–10 years of experience in UX/UI design.
5+ years designing eCommerce solutions (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile).
Strong portfolio demonstrating complex digital workflows.
3+ years of Figma experience (primary design tool).
Experience with user research, personas, journey maps, and usability testing.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams (BAs, Product Owners, Developers).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Four-year degree in Human Factors, Usability, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
NICE-TO-HAVE (PREFERRED):
B2B eCommerce experience (cart, checkout, post-purchase flows).
1+ year of Google Analytics (for data-driven design decisions).
Experience working with design systems.
